The most comprehensive Solar Water Training Course in the country!

Clean Heat Academy has developed a training course aimed at the novice solar geyser installer as well as the experienced plumber or business owner who is interested to get into the solar industry. This training course will take you from knowing only the basics to being a fully participating solar geyser installer who knows not only the theoretical side of solar, but also the practical, hands on side.

What does Clean Heat Academy Training entail?

The course stretches over a five day period. The first three days will be spent in the training centre. Each day will have two sessions; a morning session from 8:30 am to 12:00 am and an afternoon session from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Thursday will be spent purely on practical. Friday will be spent purely on doing the exams (practical as well as theoretical). If you fail to comply with the regulations and standards you will have to attend an additional two day course in order for you to get your qualification and you will have to pay an additional cost for these two days.

Training program:

The training program covers much more than ordinary training courses including aspects such as:

• Background of solar and how solar fits into the bigger picture of the lucrative renewable energy industry.
• Energy consumption and cost savings calculation.
• The principles and functioning of solar water heater systems in detail.
• Accessories in solar water heater installations.
• Detailed training on different solar water heater systems with specific reference to the evacuated tube technology.
• All aspects that need to be taken into account during pre‐sale site inspection.
• Roofing structures and various roof coverings.
• Aspects pertaining to safety of working on height.
• Governing bodies and national requirements for plumbing and solar water heater installation – a step by step guide to the who's who in the industry.
• The process of preparing quotations and growing your business.
• All Eskom requirements and regulations on solar water heater subsidy as well as how to
  become part of it all.

At this training course you will be exposed to business opportunities and contacts of role players not only in solar but indeed the entire plumbing industry. Our aim is not only to teach trainees how to install a solar water heater system, but to raise awareness, generate business, motivate and get people involved! All previous experience will be taken into account as recognition of prior learning.

This training course is developed in line with all the requirements and assessment criteria of SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority) and CETA (Construction Education and Training Authority).

Interested candidates are required to compile a file of all existing qualifications and a short summary of prior experience.

This will form part of your portfolio of evidence that will be of great value to you in your future career.
